OCCUPY LA 2011 - Increased # of Protestors Continue to Campout @ City Hall

Groups of All Ages have been camping out at City Hall in Los Angeles for over 3 weeks following a trend of copycat protests mimicking New York's Occupy Wallstreet ...The following video I put together of the protest and the surrounding areas on a Sunday night between 11pm and 6am
Although protestors motives are loosely based on a variety of social and political issues. All signs of protesting were peaceful and quite friendly, thousands of handwritten signs food City Hall's perimeter, while chalk drawing cover the buildings steps. Additional protest propaganda has made its way to neighboring bus stops, telephone poles and even near by trees. I recently attended and would highly recommend visiting, I found it to be very much like a concert festival atmosphere or even a Grateful Dead Show, except here security seems to get along quite well with the gatherers, and although the Police cars seem to circle City Hall hourly, I didn't see any confrontations. Late night jams meditation, card games, hackey sac, posting signs/art/propaganda were all part of the festivities that I took part in. I'd recommend newcomers bring a blanket, tent or sleeping bag, candles, markers & card board, for signs or homemade flyers and tape. Drugs and Alcohol were present but its presence but was very low key. Visitors planning on making a day trip should also check local destinations like the the Disney Music Hall, Olivera St. Union Station etc all within walking distance... Metered parking was generally free after 8pm.
Interestingly, the view from City Hall of Downtown LA's Skyscrapers seem to have one thing in common they are owned by banks, who control a vast majority of the peoples wealth. If people really want to make change then the easiest thing to do would be to take their money away from the rich by emptying out their savings accounts, and invest their money into appreciating assets.  10/23/2011
